The Imperial Crown is worn by the Sovereign at the coronation and upon the feast of the Crown. At all other times it is kept under guard in the Treasury of the Palace.
Composition
The Crown consists of a circlet of gold set with eight points, three of which are crowned by carbuncles of the Empire. Above the circlet rise two arches, meeting at the apex in a globe surmounted by the Lauwiner Cross. The interior is lined with crimson velvet.
