“I swear, before the Crown and before my comrades, to serve the Empire with honour, to defend the King and his lands without hesitation, to obey my lawful officers, and to bear faithfully the arms entrusted to me — until my service is ended or my life is given.”
Form of the Oath
The oath is sworn standing, with the right hand upon the Lauwiner Cross, in the presence of a commissioned officer and of two comrades who serve as witnesses. It is recorded in the regimental register.
